White Opals are probably the most easily

White Opals are probably the most easily recognises, some flash red fire, others green or blue and some flash all the colours of the rainbow.  Some display a pretty violet tone – no two Opals are the same and it’s this wonderful uniqueness that makes them such an exciting stone and a favourite of collectors around the world.

Opals are quite different to the most recognisable, principle gemstones as they are made of silica and water which has solidified through the passage of time.  Opals take about 5 to 6 million years to mature and interestingly, are not limited to planet Earth.  In 2008 NASA confirmed the discovery of Opals on the surface of Mars!
